I believe in Referendum politics. However when a Dominion (s) have an indiginous population like Australia, NZ, USA,, well you could almost say all colonised nations, the a single population based Referendum is so undemocratic, it is useless, because the indiginous population ( is always the minority) will be outvoted on all petitioned referenda that is Socially, Spiritually, Culturally divided. This is where serious consideration must be petitioned in all Parliaments for change to a 2 or dual Referendum system. NZ however has the only 2seating cultural Parliament in the world which is unique, however we Maori have not considered at all to petition our Parliament for change. I think its time Maori St the precedence for change to this political model, and before it is too late
I do not disagree with any of your comments. It is an unfortunate fact that in democratic systems minority groups have minority representation. I will make the comment that race is only one tiny section of the multitude of minority groups, which ironically make up the whole. The only time your vote in a Referendum will not impact your wishes is when it is regarding race. Your vote on other issues does to alter outcomes. I am representative of another minority group which has very little recognition and no voice so I am empathetic. Unfortunately when you are a part of a minority group you must get the group to act together in an attempt to make change. As a minority group the Maori people has 5000% more awareness, understanding, compassion, allowance and voice, than the minority group I am part of. Until NZ, Canada, Australia and USA, to name a few return to the governmental system based on people rather than dollars, even the majority is in the minority where human rights is concerned.
